What the Uttarakhand Public Service Commission is

The Uttarakhand Public Service Commission runs recruitment for the state, including the Uttarakhand Combined State Civil and Lower Subordinate Services examination and the Uttarakhand Judicial Service Civil Judge examination, which is held on a two-year cycle and moves through prelims, mains and viva voce. What the UKPSC form asks you to upload

Two images are required, and a failure in either one holds up the application. They are:

• A photograph at 150 x 200 px, no heavier than 500 KB and no lighter than 50 KB.
• A signature at 150 x 100 px, no heavier than 500 KB and no lighter than 50 KB.

The UKPSC numbers, and why they matter

The UKPSC sizes are pixel dimensions, which is the simplest case. Pick the preset and the output width and height match the requirement exactly, with no unit conversion in between and no DPI to set.

UKPSC sets a floor as well as a ceiling. The photo has to land between 50 KB and 500 KB, and the signature between 50 KB and 500 KB. A file far below the minimum can fail the portal check even though it is technically under the limit, which is why the tool exposes a minimum field next to the maximum.

If the UKPSC application refuses your file

• A UKPSC rejection usually comes down to one of two things. Either the file is over 500 KB because the crop left too much empty background, or the photo itself has a non plain background, a tilt, or a filter. Fix the weight first since it is measurable, then the photograph.
• Check the signature separately from the photo. A 150 x 100 px box with a wide margin around the writing will breach the 500 KB ceiling on its own, which is a different fix from anything that applies to the photograph.
• Repeating an identical submission is the most common wasted step here. Compare the values above against the live notification, and if the notification has moved, change one value at a time rather than re-running the whole form.
