Circle Brings USDC and EURC Stablecoins to SAP Enterprise Customers via Tereina

Stablecoins enter SAP's enterprise payment workflows

Circle has partnered with Tereina, a financial services company backed by German software giant SAP, to bring its USDC and EURC stablecoins into enterprise payment systems. A stablecoin is a cryptocurrency tied to the value of a fiat currency, such as the US dollar or the euro.

The integration allows businesses using SAP's financial software to send and receive USDC and EURC within the applications they already use to manage payments. USDC will serve as the preferred stablecoin for dollar-denominated transactions, while EURC will be used for euro-denominated payments.

What the partnership covers

  • Tereina provides payment infrastructure that companies can embed directly into business software, so users do not need to switch to a separate financial platform.
  • Circle and Tereina plan to test the stablecoin integration with customers over the coming months, including use cases for global payments and treasury operations.
  • SAP says its ecosystem generates 84% of global commerce, which could give the integration a broad reach across enterprise clients.

Circle's recent blockchain launch

The announcement follows Circle's launch of the Arc mainnet less than a month ago. Arc is a layer-1 blockchain purpose-built for stablecoin payments and financial markets. It uses USDC to pay transaction fees and supports more than 20 fiat-backed stablecoins, including both USDC and EURC.

What is confirmed

The partnership between Circle and Tereina is confirmed through a joint announcement. The integration will initially focus on SAP's customer base. Testing with customers is planned for the coming months. The 84% global commerce figure comes from the announcement itself.

Why this matters for enterprise crypto

The deal represents a significant step toward bringing stablecoins into mainstream business software. If enterprises can process stablecoin payments without leaving the tools they already rely on, it lowers the barrier to adoption for companies that may have been hesitant to explore cryptocurrency for commercial use.

What happens next

Circle and Tereina said they will begin testing the integration with customers over the coming months, starting with global payments and treasury operations.
