Who Can Apply
Check these three points before you apply.
1. Education: You need to pass 7th standard for Rural Home Guard. For Urban Home Guard, you must pass 10th standard (Matriculation). Urban Technical posts need 10th pass plus a relevant skill such as Electrician, Mechanic, Driver, Plumber, Computer Operator, Typist, Welder, Nurse or a similar trade. Keep your skill or experience certificate ready.
2. Residence: Rural applicants must be permanent residents of the block they choose. Urban applicants must live in the notified urban area. Everyone must submit a residential certificate from the competent authority.
3. Age: Your age should be between 19 and 40 years as on 1 January 2026.
The advertisement reserves 50% seats for women. Within the women's quota, there is a 5% provision for divorced, abandoned or widowed women. If suitable technical candidates are not found, Urban Technical posts may go to other eligible applicants as per the rules.
Selection Process — Jharkhand Home Guard Recruitment 2026
The selection has up to three stages. Test dates will be announced later.
• Physical Test — for all applicants
• Hindi Writing Test — checks your basic Hindi writing skill
• Technical Skill Test — only for Urban Technical Home Guard posts, where applicable
After these tests, a merit list will be prepared and published through official channels.
