What the CTET application expects

CTET is the eligibility examination for teaching posts in schools run by the Central Government and several other institutions. CBSE conducts it under NCTE guidelines. Candidates choose Paper I for classes I to V or Paper II for classes VI to VIII. The photograph and signature are collected at the application stage and printed on the admit card.

The same image is reused on the hall ticket and in the candidate record, so a file that is technically accepted but poorly framed causes trouble later. The portal checks dimensions, weight and format before it accepts the upload.

Stored preset values

These rows come from this site's shared TET preset record for CTET. They were not re-checked against the current bulletin while this page was written.

DocumentFrameWeightFormat
Photograph3.5 x 4.5 cm10 to 200 KBJPEG
Signature3.5 x 1.5 cm4 to 30 KBJPEG

The CTET information bulletin published on ctet.nic.in is the authority. If it differs from the rows above, follow the bulletin for your cycle.

Preparing the two files

  • Use a recent colour photograph with a plain light background. Keep the face centred and uncovered, and skip heavy beauty filters.
  • Sign in black or blue ink on unlined white paper, then scan or photograph the paper flat.
  • Start from a large original. It is easier to reduce a sharp image than to repair a blurred one.

How the page works

  1. The exam is already locked to TET. Open the document dropdown and choose the CTET row under Photo or Signature.
  2. Upload one file. The browser decodes it before moving on, so a renamed PDF or text file is rejected here.
  3. Drag the crop box. The aspect ratio is locked to the preset, and a face guide can be switched on.
  4. Use brightness, contrast, zoom or rotation only when the scan needs it.
  5. Check the estimated weight, then download the JPEG.

Points specific to CTET

The paper you choose does not change the image rules; one application photo serves both papers. The signature preset has a low floor of 4 KB, so a sparse signature on a large white sheet can fall below it. Crop closer rather than lowering quality. The photo ceiling of 200 KB is generous, which means a clean scan may pass without much compression.

Limits

The page handles one image at a time and writes JPEG only. It does not remove a background, straighten a signature, or submit anything to CBSE. It cannot detect a change made after the preset record was last edited.

Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ

Short answers for the questions users ask before trusting the result.

No. It is the stored preset used on this page. Check the current CTET information bulletin before you upload.

The page is built on a shared TET record, so all state variants appear. Pick the row whose label begins with Central Teacher Eligibility Test.

Yes. The paper choice does not change the image rules, and the same application photo is reused on the admit card.

Crop closer to the ink or scan at a higher resolution. Adding a white border raises the byte count without adding useful detail.

No. Decoding, cropping and compression run in the browser, and the download is created on your device.

The preset asks for JPEG. Convert the file before uploading even if the portal's file picker accepts other image types.
