OSSSC photo and signature
The Odisha Sub-ordinate Staff Selection Commission recruits for district-level and other state posts. Its application portal uses a photo and signature with fixed pixel shapes and byte windows.
This page applies the stored OSSSC presets and downloads JPEG files. It does not submit the application.
Stored OSSSC values
| Upload | Shape | Byte window | Format | DPI |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Photo | 200×240 px | 20–100 KB | JPEG | 96 or 200 |
| Signature | 140×60 px | 5–50 KB | JPEG | 96 |
These are stored values. The OSSSC advertisement for your post is the authority; confirm the shape and limits before uploading. The presets have not been changed.
Photo advice
Use a recent colour photo on a plain light background. Face the camera with your eyes open and no hat or filter. Crop so the head and shoulders fit the 200×240 frame without cutting the forehead or chin. A simple, evenly lit photo compresses better than a busy one.
Signature advice
Sign on white paper with dark ink, photograph it straight on and crop around the strokes. The signature window is wider than some other exams, but a clean file still matters. Check the downloaded file at full size.

Common OSSSC upload mistakes
A photo below 20 KB, a signature outside 5–50 KB or a file saved in the wrong format can fail. Check the byte count after download, not the size shown by a gallery app.
Keep the originals
Store the processed files with the original photo and signature. If the portal asks for a replacement, you can produce a fresh crop without another session.
Before you close the application
Download both files again and compare them with the versions you uploaded. Keep the final set in a folder until the application is accepted.
Keep the format unchanged
Leave the file as a JPEG with the .jpg extension. Renaming a PNG to .jpg does not change its actual format and can cause an upload failure.
