Fiverr Fee Calculator for Buyer and Seller

Fiverr Fee Calculator shows what a seller keeps or what a buyer pays on a Fiverr order. Enter the amount, choose a gig order or an hourly contract, and switch between the seller and buyer view.

The seller side applies the standard 20% platform commission. The buyer side adds the service fee and, for gig orders under $100, the small-order fee. The result shows the listed price, total fee and final amount.

The rates are stored in the page and labelled with a January 2026 update. They are estimates, not a quote from Fiverr, and the platform can change its fees or apply different rules by region.

What the calculator does

The form has one amount field, a transaction type toggle and a user type toggle. Gig Order and Hourly Contract change the buyer fee formula. Seller and Buyer change whether the fee is subtracted from the amount or added to it.

The result card shows the listed price, total fee and the final amount. For a seller, the final amount is the net receive. For a buyer, it is the total cost including fees. A breakdown table lists the individual fee lines and the effective rate.

The calculator is useful for pricing a gig, checking a custom offer, or understanding why the amount on an order page differs from the headline price. It is not connected to a Fiverr account and does not read live order data.

Seller view

On a gig order or an hourly contract, the seller view subtracts 20% of the amount as the platform commission. A $100 order therefore returns $80 before any other deductions. The page does not model taxes, withdrawal fees, currency conversion or refunds.

If you need to receive a specific amount, divide the target by 0.80 to estimate the list price. For example, a $400 net target implies a $500 order at the stored 20% rate. Round up to cover small differences and any other costs.

The seller view does not distinguish between a new seller, a Pro seller, a level-based rate or a custom agreement. It applies the standard commission stored in the page.

Buyer view

On a gig order, the buyer pays a 5.5% service fee. If the order amount is under $100, the page also adds a $3.50 small-order fee. At $100 or more, the small-order fee is not added. The total cost is the amount plus those fees.

On an hourly contract, the buyer pays a $5.00 initiation fee plus 5.5% of the amount. The small-order fee is not used for this transaction type. The result shows the total the buyer should expect to pay at checkout, before taxes or currency conversion.

The buyer and seller views are not two sides of the same transaction in this calculator. Switching the toggle recalculates from the same entered amount using the buyer formula; it does not take the seller's net and add the buyer fee.

How to use it

  1. Enter the gig or contract amount in dollars.
  2. Choose Gig Order or Hourly Contract.
  3. Choose Seller to see net receive, or Buyer to see total cost.
  4. Read the total fee and the final amount.
  5. Open the breakdown to see the individual lines and the effective rate.
  6. Change the amount to compare price points.

Use the same amount when comparing seller and buyer views only if you want to see the two formulas side by side. A real transaction has one amount and one side paying the fee, depending on the flow.

Understanding the stored rates

The seller commission is stored as 20%. The buyer service fee is stored as 5.5%, with a $3.50 small-order fee for gig orders below $100. The hourly buyer fee is stored as $5.00 plus 5.5%. The page labels these values as updated in January 2026.

Fiverr may add taxes, currency conversion or region-specific fees that the page does not model. A buyer in one country may see a different total from a buyer in another. A seller's payout may also be affected by withdrawal method and exchange rate.

Treat the result as a planning estimate. For the amount you will actually pay or receive, check the checkout or earnings page in your Fiverr account.

Practical uses

  • Pricing a gig: decide whether a $50 or $60 list price meets your net target.
  • Custom offers: estimate the buyer's total before sending an offer.
  • Hourly contracts: see the effect of the initiation fee on a small contract.
  • Comparing order sizes: watch the small-order fee disappear at $100.
  • Budgeting: set aside the commission instead of spending the gross.
  • Explaining a payout: show a client why the net is lower than the listed price.

Limits and privacy

The calculator runs entirely in the browser. The amount and toggles are not uploaded. It does not connect to Fiverr, verify an account or store a history.

It does not model taxes, refunds, chargebacks, currency conversion, withdrawal fees or promoted-gig costs. It also does not model tips or extras. Those can change the final amount.

The page uses dollars. If you work in another currency, the percentages still apply, but the fixed fees are dollar amounts and may not match your local checkout.

Effective hourly rate

For an hourly contract, the buyer's total includes a $5 initiation fee plus 5.5%. On a short contract, that fixed fee can dominate. A one-hour $20 contract costs the buyer $26.10 in the page's model, which is an effective 30.5% add-on. A longer contract spreads the $5 across more hours and lowers the effective percentage.

Sellers should compare the net hourly rate, not just the headline rate. If a gig takes five hours and nets $80 after commission, the effective rate is $16 per hour before taxes and revisions. The calculator does not track time, so do that math separately.

Scope creep changes the effective rate more than the platform fee. A fixed-price gig with unlimited revisions can lose money even at a 20% commission. Price the work, not just the fee.

Pricing a custom offer

To net a target amount on a gig order, divide the target by 0.80. A $200 net target implies a $250 order at the stored 20% commission. Round up to cover currency conversion, withdrawal costs or a small buffer. Do not quote the net target as the list price unless you are willing to absorb the commission.

For a buyer, work backward from the checkout total. If the budget is $100 and the order is a gig under $100, the service fee and small-order fee apply. The item portion must be lower than $100 so the total fits. Use the buyer view to test the number before sending an offer.

Custom offers can include extras and milestones that the calculator does not model. Add those amounts to the entered total if you want the fee estimate to reflect the full order.

Taxes, withdrawals and currency

The estimate covers platform fees, not income tax, sales tax or VAT. A seller is responsible for reporting income and any applicable tax. A buyer may see tax added at checkout, which the calculator does not include.

Withdrawal fees and currency conversion are also outside the model. A seller who receives dollars and withdraws to a local bank may lose more to the conversion spread. Check the payout method and the exchange rate before treating the net as final.

Refunds and cancellations can change the outcome. If an order is canceled after the fee is charged, the seller may not recover the full amount. Keep a buffer for those cases.
