US Bitcoin ETFs Add $3 Billion in Week, Turning 2026 Flows Positive
Bitcoin ETFs reverse early-year losses
U.S. spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs), which are investment vehicles that track the price of Bitcoin, attracted nearly $3 billion over seven consecutive trading sessions ending September 25. This surge lifted the total net inflows for 2026 into positive territory for the first time since May.
Data shows the funds received $2.98 billion between September 17 and September 25. Before this streak began, the funds had a deficit of $1.96 billion as of September 16. The shift to a positive balance occurred on September 22.
Key figures from the week
- Total inflows over seven sessions: $2.98 billion.
- Year-to-date net position on September 25: +$1.02 billion.
- Peak daily inflow: $999 million on September 21.
- Friday's inflow: $134.5 million.
- Total combined assets under management: $108.42 billion.
How major funds performed
The influx continued through Friday, driven largely by BlackRock's IBIT fund, which saw $97 million in new money. Fidelity's FBTC fund added $49.3 million. These gains offset an $11.8 million withdrawal from Bitwise's BITB fund. Other tracked funds reported zero net flows for that day.
This positive streak successfully reversed the $746.3 million in withdrawals that occurred on September 15 and 16. Those earlier outflows followed the U.S. Senate's rejection of a procedural vote to advance the Clarity Act, a piece of legislation intended to provide regulatory clarity for digital assets.
Context from earlier in the year
The recent gain follows a difficult period earlier in 2026. In June, the funds experienced 13 consecutive days of outflows, losing approximately $4.4 billion in value since mid-May. The current seven-day run marks a significant turnaround from that earlier trend.
Where the data comes from
The flow calculations are based on daily data provided by Farside Investors. SoSoValue reported the combined net assets of these funds reached $108.42 billion as of September 25.
Flow momentum slows slightly
While the overall trend remains positive, the speed of daily inflows decreased toward the end of the week. After peaking at $999 million on September 21, daily amounts declined each subsequent session, settling at $134.5 million on Friday.
