FSO Philippines photo tool

This tool prepares a photo for the Foreign Service Officer examinations in the Philippines. It crops to the stored FSO preset, converts the image to JPEG and compresses it toward the stored size window. The processed file downloads to your device.

The page uses a single photo preset, so the main decisions are the source image and the crop.

Stored FSO preset

The stored record is a 3.5×4.5 cm photo, JPEG, 96 DPI, with a 50–500 KB window. These are stored values. The FSO application notice is the authority; confirm the current dimensions and KB limit before uploading. The preset has not been changed.

How to prepare the photo

Use a recent colour photo with a plain light background. Face the camera with your eyes open and a neutral expression. Avoid hats, heavy shadows, filters and screenshots. Crop so the head and shoulders fit the guide without cutting the top of the head or the chin.

Start from a larger image when possible. A small source resized to the preset may look soft, and the portal may reject a blurry photo even when the dimensions are correct.

After processing

Download the file and check its width, height and KB size. Open it at full size to confirm the face is clear. Keep the original photo until the application has accepted the image, because a rejected upload may need a fresh crop.

Common errors

The portal may reject the file because the dimensions, KB size or format do not match its current rule. It may also reject a photo with a busy background or a face that is too small. Check the current notice rather than relying on an old screenshot.
