What the timestamp generator does
This page builds a YouTube link that starts at a chosen time. Paste a video URL, enter hours, minutes and seconds, and generate a watch link. If you add an end time, it also builds an embed URL with a start and end parameter.
It is a link builder, not a video downloader. It does not fetch the video, change the video, or connect to your YouTube account. The output is a URL you can copy into a message, a page or an embed.
Supported YouTube URL forms
The parser accepts a standard watch URL, a youtu.be short link, a shorts link, a live link, an embed link, a /v/ link and a youtube-nocookie embed link. It also accepts a bare 11-character video ID.
Playlist links, channel links and search URLs are not video links; the page needs a specific video ID. A URL with extra parameters is fine as long as the video ID is present. If the page cannot detect an ID, it shows an error instead of generating a broken link.
Start time and end time
Start and end are entered as hours, minutes and seconds. The start time can be zero, which produces a link to the beginning. An end time is optional, but if you enter one it must be greater than the start time.
The watch link uses the familiar t parameter when only a start time is set, for example a link ending in &t=90. When an end time is present, the watch output switches to start and end parameters. Those are not the standard watch behaviour, so treat that particular watch link as informational.
The embed URL uses start and end and is the reliable way to enforce both boundaries in an embedded player. If the end time matters, copy the embed link rather than the watch link.
How to use it
- Paste the YouTube video URL or the 11-character ID.
- Enter the start time in hours, minutes and seconds.
- Optionally enter an end time.
- Press Generate Timestamp Link.
- Copy the watch link, or copy the embed link when an end time is set.
The page shows a summary of the chosen range and buttons to open the watch or embed link. Copy buttons place the URL on your clipboard, so you can paste it into a message or a page builder.
Why use a timestamped link
A timestamp saves the viewer from scrubbing through a long video. It is useful for citing a specific statement, linking to a tutorial step, sharing a highlight or pointing a support reply at the exact moment a problem appears.
For a course or documentation page, an embedded clip with a start and end keeps the lesson focused. For a social post, a watch link with a start time is usually enough.
Keep the link readable. A short youtu.be link with a time parameter is easier to paste than a long URL full of tracking parameters, and it is less likely to break when the original share URL changes.
How the generator looks
The screenshots below show the URL field, the time inputs, the generated links and the copy controls. They illustrate the layout; the exact video and times are examples.

Limits
Private, unlisted, age-restricted or region-blocked videos may not open for everyone even when the URL is correct. The generator cannot check access, and it cannot create a timestamp beyond the end of the video.
A timestamp does not bypass ads, restrictions or a removed video. If the uploader disables embedding, the embed URL will not play on your site. The watch link may still work on YouTube.
The page does not support playlists, live streams without a fixed ID or channel pages. It builds a link; it does not host, download or re-upload the video.
Seconds, minutes and hours
The time inputs are converted to a total number of seconds for the URL. One minute thirty seconds becomes 90, and one hour becomes 3600. YouTube accepts the number of seconds in its time parameter, so you do not need to write a formatted duration yourself.
An end time of zero means no end. If you enter an end time, it must be later than the start time; the page rejects an end that is equal to or earlier than the start. This prevents a clip that would never play.
Embedding a clip
Paste the embed URL into an iframe on your page. Set a width and height that fit the layout, and include allowfullscreen if the player should be able to expand. The start and end parameters are part of the embed URL, so the player should begin and stop at the chosen points.
If the uploader has disabled embedding, the iframe will show an error even though the URL is correct. Test the embed on a page you control before publishing it. A privacy-enhanced nocookie input URL is recognised, but the generated embed uses the standard youtube.com/embed path.
Testing the link
Open the generated link in a private window or while logged out. A link that works for you may behave differently for a viewer in another region or one who is not signed in. Check it on a phone as well, because the mobile player can round the start time differently.
Ads can delay the actual start of the video even when the timestamp is correct. If the exact first second matters, tell the viewer that an ad may play first rather than assuming the link is broken.
Choosing watch or embed
Use a watch link when you are sharing the moment with a person. It opens the normal YouTube page and works in messages, email and social posts. Use an embed link when the clip sits inside a page you control and the end time matters.
Do not embed a video you do not have permission to use. A timestamp does not change ownership, licensing or the uploader's embedding settings.
