Specialist Officer, not a generalist entry
SBI's Specialist Officer recruitment hires for particular functions — information technology, law, human resources, marketing, risk, credit and similar disciplines — rather than for the generalist officer cadre. The selection route depends on the post: most advertisements use an online test and an interview, and some rely on shortlisting followed by an interview. The photograph and signature are the same kind of upload either way.
What makes the SO application different is the document load around it. Certificates, experience letters and category proofs are checked at the interview, and the face on the photograph has to match the face presenting them. A weak or outdated photo creates a problem that no amount of experience can fix.
What this page converts
The converter is locked to the SBI preset record. Choose the photo, signature, thumb impression or declaration, upload the source image, crop, and download a JPEG. Processing is local: the file is drawn to a canvas in your browser and re-encoded at JPEG quality 0.93, with no server upload.
Stored SBI presets
The following values are stored in this site's SBI record and are what the page applies. They have not been re-verified against the current SO advertisement. The bank's careers page is the authority, and its notice wins over any stored value here.
| Item | Stored dimensions | Stored file band | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| Photograph | 200 × 230 px preferred; 3.5 × 4.5 cm at 200 DPI | 20–50 KB | JPEG |
| Signature | 140 × 60 px preferred; 3.5 × 1.5 cm at 200 DPI | 10–20 KB | JPEG |
| Left thumb impression | 240 × 240 px; 3 × 3 cm at 200 DPI | 20–50 KB | JPEG |
| Handwritten declaration | 800 × 400 px; 10 × 5 cm at 200 DPI | 50–100 KB | JPEG |

Working through the upload
- Select the document type. The exam dropdown is already fixed to SBI.
- Upload the sharpest source you have — a recent passport-style photo, or a signature scan on plain paper.
- Crop so the head and shoulders fill the frame and the signature sits inside the guide with a small margin.
- Check the preview and the estimated file size.
- Download the JPEG and attach it to the SO application.
Where SO applicants trip
- An old photo from a previous application. The interview panel compares the face in front of it with the image on file.
- A signature that does not match the documents. Practice one consistent signature and use it on every sheet.
- Ignoring the declaration and thumb. Some SO advertisements ask for them at a later stage; prepare clean scans before the deadline pressure starts.
- Over-compressing. The stored preset has a floor as well as a ceiling, and a faint signature below the floor can be rejected.
- Uploading the wrong certificate. The converter handles images only; experience and degree documents belong in their own upload slots.
Limits
One image at a time, four document types, JPEG output, no background removal or signature enhancement. The page does not know your discipline, does not read the advertisement and does not submit anything to SBI.
