BUP admission and the upload stage

The Bangladesh University of Professionals runs admission tests for its undergraduate and postgraduate programmes from its campus in Dhaka. The online form asks for a photograph and a signature, and both have to be attached before the candidate can submit. Preparing the files in advance avoids a rush when the portal is busy near the deadline.

Stored photo and signature values

The table shows the rows this tool applies when BUP is selected.

DocumentStored sizeFormatFile weight
Photograph300 x 400 pxJPEG50 KB to 500 KB
Signature300 x 80 pxJPEG50 KB to 500 KB

A 200 DPI row is also stored for higher-quality output. These are working preset values, not a live copy of the BUP notice. If your programme publishes a different size, use the notice.

Preparing the portrait

The 300 x 400 px frame is portrait-shaped, so start with an upright photo rather than a square selfie. Keep the head centred, show the full face and the top of the shoulders, and leave a little space above the hair. Stand against a plain wall with soft light from the front, and avoid caps, dark glasses, or a filter that changes the face.

Preparing the signature

Sign in dark ink on unlined white paper and let it dry. Scan or photograph the paper flat, then crop to the wide 300 x 80 px frame. Keep every stroke inside the box, including the final tail. A faint signature may fade further when the JPEG is compressed, so use a clean pen and good light.

Weight and format checks

The stored range is 50 KB to 500 KB for both files. A small signature scan can fall below the minimum, while a large phone photo can sit above the maximum. Adjust the quality in small steps and reopen the downloaded file to check the real dimensions and weight. The portal does not read the preview in your gallery.

Tool limits

The tool crops, resizes, converts, and compresses only. It cannot change the background, improve a blurred scan, or confirm that BUP will accept the file. Keep the originals until the application is submitted.

Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ

Short answers for the questions users ask before trusting the result.

The stored row is 300 x 400 px, JPEG, between 50 KB and 500 KB.

The stored signature row is 300 x 80 px, JPEG, between 50 KB and 500 KB.

It is a higher-resolution stored variant for a cleaner print or preview. Use it if your notice asks for 200 DPI.

You can crop one, but the BUP frame is taller. A portrait-oriented original loses less of the head and shoulders.

A small or very clean scan can fall under the stored minimum. Use a larger scan or raise the quality slightly.

No. It is the value stored in the tool. The current BUP admission notice is the authority.
