What the RU admission form asks for

Rajshahi University runs admission tests for its undergraduate and postgraduate programmes through its own application portal. The form asks for a portrait before the candidate can complete the submission. The page is a photo-only tool because the stored RU preset contains a single photograph row; there is no signature row in this preset.

Stored photo specification

The table shows the value applied when Rajshahi is selected.

DocumentStored sizeFormatFile weight
Photograph300 x 400 pxJPEG50 KB to 500 KB

This is a stored preset, not a live copy of the admission notice. Confirm the current RU instruction before you submit, especially if you are applying to a different programme.

Making the portrait

Stand against a plain wall with the light coming from the front. Keep the camera at eye level, show the full face, and avoid a tilted head or a cropped chin. A plain shirt against a light background is easier to crop than a patterned outfit. Do not use a group photo or a picture taken from a screen.

Why 300 x 400 px matters

The frame is taller than it is wide, so a square selfie will lose either the top of the head or the shoulders when cropped. Start with a portrait-oriented original and position the crop rather than stretching the image. A stretched face looks unnatural and can make the candidate hard to identify.

Weight and format checks

The stored range starts at 50 KB and ends at 500 KB. A very clean, small file can fall below the minimum; a noisy phone photo can sit far above it. Adjust the JPEG quality in small steps and reopen the downloaded file to confirm the actual weight. The portal reads the file you upload, not the preview in your gallery.

Limits of the tool

The resizer cannot change the background, sharpen a blurred face, or guarantee that the portal will accept the upload. It also cannot tell you whether a programme uses a different photo rule. Keep the original and the downloaded JPEG until the application is submitted.

Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ

Short answers for the questions users ask before trusting the result.

The stored preset is 300 x 400 px, JPEG, between 50 KB and 500 KB.

This preset contains a photo row only. If your application asks for a signature, use a separate signature tool and follow the notice.

You can, but the 300 x 400 px frame is taller than a square. A portrait-oriented original crops with less loss.

A large phone photo or a busy background can keep the weight high. Crop tighter and lower the JPEG quality in small steps.

No. It only crops, resizes, converts, and compresses the uploaded image.

It is the stored preset in this tool. The current Rajshahi University admission notice remains the authority.
