Cropping the portrait

Daylight from the front is easier to work with than a ceiling light, which can leave a shadow across the eyes. Avoid caps, dark glasses, and beauty filters.
Preparing the signature
Sign on unlined white paper with a black or blue pen and let the ink dry. Photograph or scan the paper flat, then crop to the wide 300 x 80 px box. Keep the first and last strokes inside the frame; a signature that touches the edge may look cut off in the portal preview.
Common upload problems
The usual causes are a PNG or HEIC file, a photo below the stored 50 KB minimum, a face that is too small in the frame, and a signature with a visible table or shadow. Reopen the downloaded JPEG and check its dimensions and weight before attaching it. Do not stretch a small image to fill the square.
Tool limits
The tool crops, resizes, converts, and compresses only. It cannot repair a blurred face, change the background, or confirm that the admission portal will accept the file. Keep the original images until the application is complete.
