NECO registration asks for a very small passport photograph. This page applies one of three stored NECO photo shapes, converts the file to JPEG and compresses it toward the 8 KB ceiling. The download is an image file only; the page does not fill or submit the NECO form.

The same record is used by different NECO registration windows, so the shape that suits one candidate may not suit another. Read the current instruction before choosing a preset.

Three stored photo shapes

These are stored preset values. NECO's current candidate instruction and portal are the authority. Confirm the shape and byte limit before uploading; the stored preset has not been changed.

Why the 8 KB limit matters

Eight kilobytes leaves little room for background detail. A busy wall, patterned clothing or a heavy shadow can push the file over the limit even when the face is the right size. A plain background and even lighting give the compressor more room to keep the eyes and facial features readable.

Cropping and compressing

Start with a recent colour photo, face the camera and keep your eyes open. Crop so the head fills most of the frame but the chin and forehead remain visible. Remove hats and heavy jewellery. If the first compressed file is too large, lower the quality slightly or crop closer; do not repeatedly save the same JPEG.

No signature preset

The stored NECO record contains photo shapes only. If your registration asks for a signature, prepare it separately using the dimensions and byte limit in the current NECO instruction.
