UPSC Photo and Signature Size Requirements

For UPSC 2026 applications, the photo and signature requirements have been updated. The signature must be saved as a JPG file named "signature" with size between 20KB to 100KB and dimensions between 350px to 500px. The photo should be a JPG file named "photo" with size between 20KB to 200KB.

UPSC 2026 Photo Guidelines

Note 1: Please see the below example when you are uploading the images: Acceptable Photograph and Non-Acceptable Photograph.

Note 2: Photograph images should be in JPG format only with file name "photo".

Note 3: Photograph: The digital size of the file must be less than 200 KB and greater than 20 KB.

Note 4: The photograph should be clear with a plain white background, and 3/4 of the photograph should present the full face (full head from the top of the hair to the bottom of the chin). The photograph should be recent (not older than 10 days for filling the online application form), and at the bottom of the photograph, the name of the candidate and the date of the photo should be mentioned.

Note 5: A sample of the quality of acceptable and non-acceptable photographs is given below for the guidance of the candidates.
